All About My Piercings!

Hey readers! Okay, so today I will be talking to you about all my piercings! How much they were, how the healing process works, and how much it hurt to get them done. So to start off, I wanted to write this for everyone who is thinking about getting another piercing, so they know what to expect in today's market!
I have a total of eleven piercings currently. I have triple lobe piercings on both ears, as well as three cartilage piercings (one on the left, two on the right), a rook piercing on my left ear, and lastly a nose piercing. (It's a lot, I know:))
SO LET'S BEGIN!
1. Lobe Piercings
I have triple lobe piercings on both sides. My first ever ear-piercing took place when I was six. My mother found me in my room trying to pierce my own ear with a thumbtack (not a good idea). I got them done at Claire's with a gun.
My second lobe piercing I got done when I was a sophomore in high-school. I thought I was so cool back then! In all honesty, I just wanted my whole ear bedazzled! I got these done at Icing with a gun.
My third earlobe piercing HURT! I also got these done at Claire's. It hurt because I could feel the backlash from the gun. This was my second most painful piercing (get it done with a needle!)
Each of them were about $25 a pair!

2. Cartlidge (Helix) Left Ear
Now this one I wasn't scared for at all since I actually had the double helix piercing done on my right ear before. I got this done at 23rd St. Body Piercing when I also got my nose pierced. The total cost to get both done was fifty-four bucks! (Not bad, eh?). The healing has gone by very smoothly. My ear didn't even bruise!

3. Cartlidge (Double Helix) Right Ear
This was the first ever non-lobe piercing that I got. When I walked in to 23rd St. I believe I was hyperventilating. One of my besties, Natalie, had gone in with me for moral support (and to hold my hand).
So my favorite piercer, Rick, had made some little joke about how I could hold Natalie's hand, but not his (yep. real classic jokes here) and he did the top one first.
In all actuality, it was only a bit of a pinch. The week before I was going around pinching my ear to prepare myself, and that hurt worse than the actual piercing! Now when he did the bottom one, it hurt a little more only because of the first one's shock. but I would do it again in a heartbeat.
I love them. They were about eighty bucks because I got them pierced with titanium.
4. Rook Piercing
Now, onto my most recent one, the rook. I had been obsessed for months about rook piercings. I was ferociously pinning pictures on Pinterest, talking my friends ears off about it, asking people I saw on the streets who had them about it, and everyone had just had enough. I took the chance and I went back in to do it.
Now, I did not know it was a curved piece. When I went in and the lady asked me which one I wanted I was confused as to why she was pointing me at the belly-button piercings, later I figured out that it was supposed to be curved.
On the pain scale, this was around a five or six. It wasn't so much painful as it was uncomfortable (as the piercer is bending your ear to insert the jewelry) but I honestly love the look of it! (I kinda want to do it on my other side!)
This was about $70 to do.
5. Nose Piercing
In this photo I had just got my nose done (I think it's about three days after) and I was really happy about it. My jewel is just an itty-bity little thing so it may be hard to see.
When I walked in to get it done by Rick (he literally has done all my piercings at 23rd) I was super nervous. One of my cousins had hers done and was reassuring me it wasn't that bad...
And she was right! After he did it and the needle was still in my nose the words that followed were "Huh, that was odd." There wasn't any tears, any screaming, literally a scale 3 out of 10 on the pain. My third lobe piercing actually hurt worse!
But now it is all healed, and I'm excited about switching it to a hoop soon (how hippie-ish, I know:))
Here is what I learned:
When you get it done professionally, the needle is less painful than the gun. I preach this to all of my friends looking to get a new piercing. When you get it done with a needle, the process of putting the jewelry in is so much smoother (since the piercer literally threads the jewelry through in one clean stroke).
Follow and make a schedule for cleaning times. When you have to take care of a new piercing, it can be quite tedious, but you have to do it in order to avoid any infections or unsightly skin irritations. These irritations are common with the nose piercing especially, although I never experienced one since I clean mine regularly, even though it is healed! :)
Be aware of social stigmas. Although it is becoming more and more common for employers to disregard piercings in future employee's some jobs still hold true. Here's an article I found about this subject!
They might itch. When I got my rook done, it really itched at first. I was so concerned that I consulted my piercer, and he said that it was normal and that it was a good sign it was healing properly.
Remember that the piercing is a wound. This is really important and it goes along with being timely with the cleaning process. Seriously, if you are going to pay a lot of money for it, it makes sense to take proper care of it. So don't take the jewelry out if it is before the healing time, you'll just prolong it.
So thats all I have for you all today!
